If you
can't find an answer to your question on the site or in this Help section
please eMail:
The player doesn't display properly (or at all) on my webpage / forum post when I cut and paste the html code.
Answer:
We have formatted the code to work for most situations, but there may always be an exception. Make sure that you have copied the entire code in the format that we presented it to you.
For bulletin boards or forums that only allow you to post by the link method then you should cut and paste the link that is displayed underneath the html code for your chosen sound player. If you are pasting the link you will also need to input the height and width of the player.
When adding the html code there is a small possibility that the "post" window that you have entered the code into has broken up the lines of html code to make them fit . In doing so hidden "BR" tags will have been added automatically, which affect the display of the player. BR tags are the html code equivalent of a carriage return.
You have 2 options:
i. If available, go to the Settings panel of your posting page and see if there is an option to turn off BR tags in one of the Settings categories (often the "Formatting" category and called something like "Convert line breaks") . If there is the option, turn off BR tags (if the option is yes or no - select no) and repaste your code. Only do this if you can't paste the code succesfully - BR tags are useful and help you to format any text that you might want to add correctly.
ii. Before posting, manually adjust the code to fit the post window. This is a bit fiddly , but to reformat the code you just need to use your cursor and backspace key to remove any carriage returns that might have been created. Be very careful not to delete anything or to add or remove spaces.
2. If you are adding a sound player to a forum there is a possibility that your service provider does not allow Flash code to be added. Check your forum information to find out if you can.
3. Internet Explorer 4+ and Netscape 6+ for Mac OS 8-9 sometimes have problems displaying multiple Flash files. Try emptying your cache or rebooting your computer.
If you know that your forum allows you to paste Flash content then there will be probably be some information available in the help section that will tell you exactly how to format the code.
